Every year, EA Sports releases a new edition of their flagship soccer video game, and every year, millions of fans around the world are watching for one thing: what's new. In the lead-up to launch, EA rolls out a series of deep dive videos, each one breaking down a major area of the game in detail. These videos drive the conversation, shape expectations, and for a lot of fans, determine whether they're buying the game.
In 2025, I got to work with the EA Sports FC team on the Career Mode Deep Dive for FC 26. I edited the piece, working with game captures, menu screen recordings, and motion graphic packages all coming together from different parts of the production. When you're cutting footage from a game still in active development, things shift fast. Builds change. Features get updated. You're editing against a moving target and the release date doesn't move with it.
The job is to take all of that, the moving pieces, the tight timeline, a global audience waiting, and make it feel effortless. Dense and technical, but clear. Informative, but something you actually want to watch.
